What we know about you
Hello! We’re Smartmonies. We teach kids about money. This page explains what we know about you and what we do with it. If anything here is confusing, ask a grown-up — or ask us.
What we know
Your grown-up told us three things when they signed you up:
- Your first name — so your teacher can say hello properly
- How old you are — so your lessons are the right level, not too easy or too tricky
- Anything helpful they wanted your teacher to know
We also keep track of which classes you came to and which lessons you finished. That’s how your grown-up can see how you’re getting on.
What we don’t know
We don’t know your last name, your birthday, which school you go to, or where you live. We don’t have any photos of you. We don’t need any of that to teach you about money.
Who can see it
Only your teacher and the small team who run Smartmonies. We never sell what we know about you to anyone. Ever.
There’s one important exception. If we ever worried that you weren’t safe, we would tell someone who could help — like your grown-up, or people whose job is keeping children safe. We would do that because keeping you safe matters more than keeping a secret.
Your lessons
Your live classes happen on a video call with your teacher. Your grown-up will know when they’re happening and can be nearby.
Things you can ask for
You have rights about your own information. You can ask us to:
- Tell you what we know about you
- Fix anything that’s wrong — like if we spelled your name incorrectly
- Delete what we know
Just ask your grown-up to email us at info@smartmonies.co.uk, and we’ll sort it out.
If something doesn’t feel right
If anything at Smartmonies ever makes you feel uncomfortable — in a class, or anywhere else — tell a grown-up you trust straight away. You will never be in trouble for telling someone.
