What a teacher does that a screen can’t
Recorded lessons are patient, cheap and available at midnight. What they cannot do is notice.
A teacher sees the pause before your child answers. They hear the guess dressed up as an answer. They spot that a nine-year-old has grasped saving perfectly well but has quietly mixed up what interest means — and they stop and fix it, right then, before it becomes the foundation for the next four lessons.
Forty minutes, and often a little less
A 40-minute slot
Most classes run 30 to 40 minutes of teaching, depending on the child. A Year 6 pupil will usually want the full time. A Year 3 pupil often does their best work in half an hour.
We’d rather finish while a child is still enjoying it than push on to fill a slot. Ending well is what makes them want the next one — and a tired child at minute 38 learns nothing anyway.
The slot is always yours for the full forty, so there’s room for a class that’s going well to keep going.
